Hawthorn Cottage is the perfect home away from home located right in the heart of Chester just steps from the water’s edge. A short stroll away you will discover many fine dining establishments, local shops and galleries. Hawthorn Cottage offers visitors that wonderful, warm down east hospitality that Maritimers are so famous for.

We are open from May through to November and our bedrooms are bright, airy and comfortable, offering a warm cottage feel. The private shared bath is equipped with a custom shower and heated floor. There is also a lovely covered verandah overlooking the garden and in-ground swimming pool, available for morning breakfasts, late afternoon tea or to just relax and enjoy the peace and quiet.

Breakfast is usually served between the hours of 8 and 9am and Jennifer's wonderful down east cooking will get your day off to a great start. Hawthorn Cottage strives to serve local products and we are delighted to offer our own blend of fair trade, organic and locally roasted coffee.

Considered a summer destination for well over a century, the village of Chester has long been a top haven for yatching. For the non-sailing visitor, Chester's quiet streets invite you to explore our shops and galleries. There is also a spectacular 18 hole Golf Course which borders the ocean and offers stunning vistas of Mahone Bay.
