The Lanes' Tradition - A Fine Nova Scotia Inn! Built in 1798, Lane's Privateer Inn was once the home of one of Nova Scotia's most famous privateers, Captain Joseph Barss, and has been a dining tradition in the town of Liverpool, Queens County, Nova Scotia since 1962. Owned and continuously operated by the Lane family, Lane's is one of Nova Scotia finest inns and prides itself on its fine cuisine - meticulously and beautifully prepared using fresh local ingredients and presented in a warm atmosphere of charm and genuine hospitality. To experience the cuisine at our Nova Scotia inn is to experience the true "taste of Nova Scotia". Wherever your love of seafood directs you, Lane's will surpass the expectations of the most discriminating palates.
If you're looking for a more relaxed venue in which to meet friends or relax after a long day of meetings or sightseeing, seek out The Captain Barss Pub. We offer the same menu as the dining room but in a more casual atmosphere. Here, family and friends can meet, dine and engage in a friendly game of pool or saunter out onto our new Stone Patio with 2 levels for a quiet chat overlooking the Mersey River.
