The Dauphinee Inn is ideally nestled on the shores of Hubbards Cove, just 35 minutes from Halifax, Lunenburg and Peggy's Cove. Furnished with period antiques, all rooms have private baths and most have a magnificent view of the Cove.
Welcome to our Dining Room - "Taste of Nova Scotia" Restaurant of the Year - 2000 Our panoramic dining room is casually upscale, featuring local seafood, pasta, chicken, steaks and fresh herbs from our organically grown herb garden. Our family have been cooking lobsters since 1936, and we just about have it down right. Our seafood chowder follows a recipe passed down through the generations. We use only Certified Angus Beef. We also specialize in Hot Rock Dining - this is very similar to fondue, except you cook your meal on a hot (650F) slab of granite.
There are no fats or oils so it is very healthy, and the aroma is one you will savour. We complement our meals with fresh herbs and vegetables from our own gardenWe also have dining in our comfortable lounge and on our waterside deck. With our marina, just off our main deck, many guests prefer to Dock and Dine.
We are about a half hour drive from the city of Halifax, the historic towns of Bridgewater, Lunenburg, and Mahone Bay, and the famous lighthouse at Peggy's Cove. Chester, where the ferry leaves for Tancook Island, Ross Farm, and Oak Island, where the search for Captain Kidd's treasure continues, are even closer. We are perfectly situated for the day trips to historic sites, to antique and craft shops, golf courses, summer theatre, and to the many exhibitions and festivals in the area. As the sun sets over the cove, you can enjoy a private stroll on nearby Hubbards Beach.
